3M "PPS Painter's Story" video

3M’s Paint Preparation System (PPS) is a spray cup that automotive painters swear by, and plenty of them post photos of it on Instagram. When 3M released PPS Series 2.0, the launch video put those painters first. Their own photos slide into a grid, and the grid assembles into the new cup, so the people who made the product’s reputation literally become the product.

I came up with the concept and made the video while contracting with Concept Group, working with copywriter Mike Davis. I adapted the 3D model from 3M’s CAD files, then built the materials, lighting and animation in Cinema 4D. I also did the sound.
